He played 34 times in all competitions in his debut season in North London and scored his first Tottenham Hotspur goal the following season. Sissoko had been in and out of the side in various attacking positions during his early time at the club, but shone upon moving into a central midfield role in the 2018/19 campaign, helping to turn matches in Tottenham Hotspurs' favour and endearing himself to the fans in the process. He started 27 of Tottenham Hotspur's 38 Premier League games in the 2018/19 campaign and appeared as a substitute in a further two, often linking up with Harry Winks. In all, he made 44 appearances in all competitions, including eight starts and two substitute appearances in the run to the UEFA Champions League Final in Madrid. Prior to starting in UEFA Champions League Final against Liverpool, Sissoko was presented with the inaugural 'Spurs Legends' Player of the Year' award.
