Kristy Brooks
Kristy was born in Auckland, New Zealand. Her Mother is of Maori descent, her iwi is Ngati Haua. She began performing as a tap dancer and child actor in commercials and theatre. She went on to study acting at WPAC.
Kristy has worked both in-front and behind the camera on various productions for over 20 years including the award winning show Grey's Anatomy (2005) and the Cannes nominated film Still Waters (2011). Kristy was recently cast in The Butterfly Tree (2017) starring Ed Oxenbould, Melissa George and Ewen Leslie.
Kristy features in the award winning spot for Parkinson's Disease by legendary director David Denneen and is in the latest Amazon, Coca-Cola and Qantas commercials.
Kristy is also a filmmaker starting her own production company Awhina Films named after her great grandmother Te Awhina Bush.
Kristy's 9 year old daughter Shia Hamby was cast in director/writer Abe Forsythe film Little Monsters (2019) starring Lupita Nyong'o, Josh Gad and Alexander England.
