Kristin Donnan
A freelance writer, researcher, and business owner, Kristin Donnan (aka Kristin Donnan Standard) has written five books-including "Rex Appeal" (2002) the source material for Todd Douglas Miller's Emmy®-winning 2014 documentary, "Dinosaur 13." She also appeared on screen in "Dinosaur 13" and supported the production. Kristin is the sole owner of Rockin' Dog Studio, through which she is writes, edits, and produces materials, including a dramatic script based on the "Dinosaur 13" story. Another screenplay, "SIMA" (2008), is based on "The Spy Who Seduced America: The Judith Coplon Story" by Marcia & Thomas Mitchell. She previously co-wrote with Charles Mulvehill an adaptation of Clyde Edgerton's "Walking Across Egypt," which was optioned but not produced. She is a contributor to MacGillivray Freeman Films IMAX and television productions.
Past work includes editing more than 15 books for other authors-one of which is the source material for "Official Secrets," the 2019 film based on "The Spy Who Tried to Stop a War," by Marcia & Thomas Mitchell. She also consults on print and screen projects. Her work in magazines includes time on staff in national publications; freelance writing; and co-founding and editing "High Plains Art" (first published in 2006) the Midwest region's only arts and culture magazine. She also worked at NBC's "Unsolved Mysteries" (1991-1992)-where she functioned as researcher, producer on one special, and as production coordinator. Her print projects have won national book and press awards, including a Silver Medal in the Independent Publishers Book Awards. Kristin holds an MFA in screenwriting (American Film Institute), and an MS in counseling.
